"A steady increase in email and mobile telephone usage has impacted enterprise telephone system usage. An analysis of corporate telephone bills (land-lines) over the last five (5) years revealed calls placed over the enterprise telephone systems have decreased by approximately 20%. The cost of business telephone lines has increased by 47% in the same time period."
Forest Preserve District of DuPage County wished to replace its AVN Centrex based telephone system with one that could take advantage of its WAN infrastructure for communications between it 13 primary locations. Wilson Consulting conducted an audit of all District telephone systems and services, interviewed representatives from each District department and prepared a report documenting the current system capabilities and costs compared against a new system design. That report revealed that in addition to the enhanced capabilities of a new system, the District would realize considerable operating expense savings by replacing the existing system.
Wilson Consulting evaluated proposals for new systems to replace the Centrex system and prepared a recommendation to the Board. The recommendation was based on the proposed system’s ability to meet the evaluation criteria developed jointly between Wilson Consulting and the District.
"The City of Highland Park wanted to conduct a thorough audit of its telephone services and all related expenses. Wilson Consulting was retained to determine how to optimize the City’s expenditures for telecommunication services. At the conclusion of Phase 1 of the project the consultant identified services that could be disconnected (approximately $2,000/month). The study also revealed that by implementing a new telephone system the City would realize an additional $3,700/month savings."
